Vanilla fudge slice

TAYLOR Vanilla Fudge Slice


  • 60g butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 3/4 cup plain flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp Taylor & Colledge Vanilla Bean Paste
  • 80g butter
  • 2/3 cup icing sugar
  • 1 tsp Taylor & Colledge Vanilla Bean Paste


Step 1
Preheat oven to 180C (160C fan-forced) and grease and line a 15cm square baking tin with baking paper, leaving a few centimeters overhang.
Step 2
Melt the butter in a small saucepan over medium heat, transfer to a large mixing bowl and leave to cool for 10 minutes.
Step 3
When the butter is cool, add the sugar, egg, flour, baking powder, salt and vanilla and stir to combine.
Step 4
Spread the batter into the prepared tin and bake for 20-25 minutes. Remove from tin and place on a wire rack to cool completely.
Step 5
To make the icing, beat all the ingredients together in the bowl of an electric mixer until light and fluffy.
Step 6
Spread on top of the cooled slice, slice and serve
